Ancient Token Or Coin (Id: 19th/20th Century School Medal)

Bricar New Member Canada 1 Posts	Posted 05/17/2019 12:32 pm My dad found this coin (?) in the dirt in England in 1964 and both he and I are wondering is it a coin, or an ancient token? It has no tarnish on it at all and is about 1" wide. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

pilegicvs Valued Member United States 66 Posts	Posted 05/18/2019 04:54 am I evaluate an awful lot of school, college and fraternal organization track and field event medals in my other life. This has the look of those types of generic medals sold by catalog in the late 19th and early 20th century for events of some kind. The event itself would be hand stamped or engraved into the open area on the flower side of the medal. So, it might be an award at an art exhibit, best essay, etc., etc., any event where a medal might be given out as a reward for good work of some kind. Report this Post to the Staff
