Well saver is a relative term, right? It is worth a few times face value being a circulated Wheat cent from a branch mint. The die chip doesn't really affect the value of the coin much.

Nice example of a '53 die chip from the San Francisco mint. Might be good to hang onto it as a decent example if you don't have one already. I have about 15 or so of this particular '53-S die chip. Some have subtle die cracks around the wheat stalks on the reverse.

The die state is in the VLDS area. Note the '3' is trying to crawl to the rim direction. But it is a Wheat cent.
