Is this just a worn die? I'm keeping it anyway because even though large date, so far my only 1970-S :)

Hi RobertRansom,

I use the cheapest of USB microscopes available on Amazon. (20 bucks or so). I find you have to shield the LED lights, or at least some of them, with your finger or a business card while taking the pic. Otherwise you get so much glare you can't tell anything from the photo. Also, if needed, I adjust brightness/contrast with Gimp (free image software) before uploading.

You can see the edge of the envelope I used to shield the light in the pic.

One addendum - any coin you think has doubling under these cheap microscopes - put your finger underneath the light. You can then see the true imprint.
