Hello everyone. Does anyone know what this countermark on Spanish 5 pesetas 1975 means? Somebody's initials, random letters, Belgian firearms mfgr., only the person who applied them knows for sure.

Why write random letters?
There must be some sense.
Initials? Maybe. But then I wonder whose and why.
Could this be connected
with something that has at least some historical value?

There was a nationalist right wing party founded in Spain 1976: Fuerza Nueva, abbreviated FN. I don't know if they fancied countermarking coins, but it could be one possibility.

unfortunately, only an
assumption - there's no
evidence. Such a thing
could have historical value. Perhaps, not now, but in the future it'll be confirmed=)

National Front, Spanish Frente Nacional a successor party to Fuerza Nacional and which was part of a pan EU grouping of right wing parties trying to increase their representation in Brussels.

A plausible assumption,
given the coincidence in
time of the coin (1975) and the time of activity of the FN party (1976-1982) But there's still no evidence. Maybe it's all the same some kind of Fernando Nunez joked by putting his initials on a coin=)

In which case Señor Nuñez was very busy around 1985-7 which is when these started appearing.
