@Numis-Northerner: That's great, but I don't see any wings!

That is where they were invented - hence the name.

@ Spruett
Mine mentions group 1 acting on group 3 that has been acted upon by Group 2.
(Buffalo bison fool Buffalo bison [other] Buffalo bison fool.

Yours is also correct stating group 1 was already acted upon by group 3 and then acts on group 2.
( Buffalo bison [that] Buffalo bison fool, fool [other] Buffalo bison)

Now try 16 in a row

I found the National Park one with the bison, need to get that one first.

Take a closer look at the NPS coins - all three of them have a bison as part of their design. It is the most obvious on the silver dollar, but the gold half eagle and CuNi clad 50-cent coin feature the National Park Service logo which depicts a bison.

The gold half eagle is out but the other 2 I will get. I'm going to look at a few notes on Friday and see what else they have.

Congrats on the new pickup! Very nice!

The presence of the dancer on the coin did not sit well with some when the coin came out. I think it effectively presents an overlooked aspect of the National Park Service and was a worthy inclusion on the coin.

Will you be getting the proof version as well? (It appears you have done so with the previous modern commemorative coins you've presented, so I thought I'd ask!)

Hi commens,

I expect to get the proof version and the 50 cent clad also. I got this one locally, so I want to get the others locally also. The prices locally are much better than ebay ($30 compared to $45) For now I'm looking for the Kansas and North Dakota Bison quarters first.

After those, I'll get the missing 3.

Are there any other commemoratives with bison? I looked through the mega red and these seem like it.

Other than the gold NPS coin that we've already discussed, I think you've identified them all.

You might be interested in the Coinage and Currency sets for the American Buffalo silver dollar and the Lewis and Clark silver dollar - the bison is prominent in both (a coin in one (obviously!) and a one-sided US specimen $10 note in the other.

Here are links to a couple of my past posts if you are unfamiliar with them:

Thanks Commems!

I looked at the links. I also collect currency the notes shown are expensive in "real". If I can find them at a good price I may add them.

But since TNG recommended these, I ended up ordering the 3 below in Silver Proofs.

2005 Kansas
2006 North Dakota
2010 Yellowstone

They should be here by next week, so I'll post a few more Bisons.

Because of TNG, I ended up getting a few more Bison. I already had these, but I didn't have them in cameo and in silver.

First up is Kansas. I ended up getting Slabbed as the cost was the same as a raw.
