wossip New Member United Kingdom 26 Posts	Posted 08/26/2020 2:07 pm Can anyone please identify 2 notes? 1) Japan (?), 100 yen. I have not seen any other with this person. 2) China Shanghai (1924) 5 yuan, 'Running Horse'. 'TN' monogram on both sides. Haven't found any similar online. What does it mean? Emperor Shih Huang Ti. First Emperor of China. The left side photo is the Imperial Resting Quarters. The bank was a Japanese puppet bank. Dave L Valued Member United States 484 Posts	Posted 08/26/2020 4:39 pm Looks to me like the top note is a 5 Yuan note from the National Industrial Bank of China issued in 1924. The catalog is P-526b. There were several varieties, and I did not find your T/N overprint, but it will have that base catalog number anyway. A similar version is here: http://www.banknote.ws/COLLECTION/c.../CIN0526.htm The second note, as SCOPRU said earlier it a Puppet Bank of the Federal Reserve Bank of China issued in 1945.
