1971 Nickel With Possible Cud?

I got this today and thought it was worth asking about. It's not in the best of shape but it doesn't have any marks that would have caused this. I took a few different angles so you can see that for your self.
I would like to add a little Cud to my collection .haha. thanks!

Looks more like a die chip on that edge.

Darn, well I still need to find one for my collection I guess. Cud bumps are on the rim correct?

Cuds--by definition--are associated with rims.

Ok,so yes. And how do you identify one apart from a die chip?

I encourage you to search Cuds and die chips on your own. There is a search box at the top left of every CCF page. You'll find lots of examples therein.

On a Cud the rim is lost because that section of the die has broken off and is missing. This looks like a die chip because the curved line of the rim can still be seen. The die chip is a small hole in the die with normal metal all of the way around the missing metal.
