That's a nice one Jack. I don't know how some of you folks can keep up such incredible paces but seeing what you all net is a lot of fun!

I used to do 12 boxes of halves a week along with the 2 boxes of cents and 2 boxes of nickels.

It seemed that 4 out of 5 weeknights a week I was either picking up and searching or trying to find somewhere to dump until Chase stopped taking loose coin back in July.

While the workload is now leas there are a few bored nights a week and the silver half finds are way way way way down.

From a teller's tray, I found a 1916 Lincoln. This is the first teens Wheat I found in over three years, and it's exactly 100 years old, to boot!

This was in the second roll that I ever searched I bought the roll from the restaurant I work in. It's still the oldest coin I've ever found in a roll or in circulation. I've only been coin collecting for about a year now though.

My weekend $25 box of BWR produced:

40s wheats 7x
50s wheats 10x
S mints 3x
2009 7x
Canadians 4x

Not bad but nothing special. Now onto a more detailed search for varieties.

Happy hunting

I always put any S-mint wheaties in a separate pile from the common dates since they are rare for me to see on the east coast. As for the S-mint memorials, I don't keep them unless they're BU red condition since they're still common to me.

Numisma - I only pulled 2 S Mint LMCs from 2450 cents searched. Although not rare by mintage numbers, not that frequent an event here. Nickels are better though; maybe 8 or so a box.

For the 2450 CWR cents searched -

18 LWCs ( 1914, 1927 both with environmental damage)
16 LMCs (Copper)AU/BU
14 LMCs (Zinc) AU/BU
10 2009
40 Error/Variety coins to checkout; 5 ID'ed - 2004P-1DR-010, 2006P-1DO-007, 2006P-1DO-014, 2011P-1DO-001, 2013P-1DO-010

Here are a few pic's of the fun finds -

Does anybody ever sell their extra wheat pennies off?
Usually I see people paying 0.015 or .02 cents per Wheat penny but I found a local guy in my area paying 0.06 each.
Any idea why so much?
Stated he was on online auctioneer?

I had 6800 Wheaties from the 40-50's and he paid me $408 (cash of course).

Just wondering
Thanks and good luck

If I could sell common dates for $0.06, I'd jump on the offer. I have no idea why he's offering so much.
