I found this in a jar of change at a friends house. I did some research to see if it worth anything and I found a post on ebay where someone is selling this for $42,000 saying it is a rare error coin. The first error they said was it was double struck making the cheek more sunk in and the second error was no mint mark and it was added to the back as a Denver mark which is incorrect. As I was looking at their coin I was comparing mine to that one and they are exactly the same. So can someone tell me the truth of this coin please.
Just a normal 1964 D nickel, very high mintage just worth five cents. There are sometimes some really wild things on ebay posted by uninformed sellers.
I figured as much but was like whoa when I saw someone was asking $42,000 as an error coin that is not an error, since I had an identical one in my hand. Being greedy will get you no where lol. Thanks for the advice.
Contact the ebay seller and tell him or her that you have one that you'll sell to them for half of their asking price. You just might hear back from them!
