it looks like die polishing has extended the foot of the R. I wonder if someone at the mint dinged the die in some way and then did some heavy polishing. Interesting!

Maybe this photo will help solidify your answer. Hopefully it's better than the last one.

I also figured out by looking at the coins some more that it is also slightly on the right side of the Y

Look at the base of the 'T'? Note it is a bit wider. This maybe a Struck Through Grease issue.

Well that would be interesting. I always thought that would cause less details not more. I learn something new every time I post in this community. Thanks coop for the interesting pictures that you are always able to create on a whim.

I'm confused. Is that area incuse or raised above the field? I took it that it was a raised area. If it's a Grease Filled Die strike I would expect the area to be incuse.

That's what I thought also, it is definitely raised in those areas. You would have to ask coop why he believes that it is a grease strike through
