Going through some Mercs and came across this one. What caused these waves? Is it acid damage?

It's a shame it think of the extreme number of these that have been melted down over the years. They are a beautiful coin! Yes, I am afraid I have to agree with others here now; your Merc was touched by heat or a blow torch.
