OK, here is my 2013 Enhanced Burnished ASE taken with my scope. This image was a rush job, so I didn't set up my lighting very well

2 more today - Here are 2 more ASE's for my 7181 album - 2012 Bullion and a 2013-W Burnished: (The Bullion has 2 minor marks on it - one on each side - but then, it is just a bullion) The one on the reverse looks to be a reed contact. Will I replace it? Probably

I'm still trying to navigate this forum so breast with me, I think I finally am figuring out things! I've read through this thread now and we seen to have a lot in common. I recently finished (well I hope anyways, and there's more releases all the time), but I think I've finally finished a complete OGP silver eagle set. The bullion I have in capsules and in one of those black Lighthouse boxes. In addition I have everything else in OGP. No partial sets, for example the 10th anniversary I have the gold that came with it, for the other hard sets like the Impressions set, the Philadelphia Bicentennial were probably the hardest. I've thing I really took a leap on was the 20th anniversary set, I got the 2 coin and the 3 coin gold, in addition to the 3 coin silver. Just mainly wanted to say something and that your have a brother collector around.

Well thanks for the comments Dan, and , you will find the we have a lot of 'brothers' here that are crazy over these Great coins. I have every single ASE Proof coin issued so far, and almost done getting all the bullion and burnished ones (which I'm placing into a Dansco album) When I first joined this forum, I too, had a difficult navigating around.

I've just kept mine in the boxes and have them in these gray equipment cases you can get at harbor freight, that's for the individual clamshell boxes, the rest are stored in various places. The last 2 I needed I got earlier this year, the 08 rev of 07 and the Canadian Pride set. I never thought very highly of those 2, but I didn't want to keep saying "everything except". I had the US Mint Pride set already, and always considered the 08/07 coin of minor importance because it's a variety coin. I did discover a few Royal Mint sets with ASEs in them, those were really tough, they all came from England, but I got em! Very rare sets, too. I've been working on my own little collectors guide, in not really sure how I'll share it, I'm up to 2018 now. It started when my wife wanted an inventory of what I had and sort of grew from there

Quote: but I didn't want to keep saying "everything except" I feel ya there - my sentiments as well. So far almost all my eagles are still on OGP Full Sets or in individual Clamshell boxes stuffed in my safe, stuffed in my safe room, protected by an access card security system and finally protected by my two German Shepherd dogs maybe over-kill on protection. But I made the very hard decision to get all the proof issued graded by PCGS so I can create a museum quality display case to show them off (once you are gain access to the coin room that is) and all bullion and burnished will go into my 7181/7182 Dansco albums (Excluding the 08/07 - that one had already been graded by NGC as SP69, but I will send it to PCGS to cross it over.

We also collect the yearly ASE's. We have a mixture of BU, Burnished and a few special Proofs. That said, we also have several tubes of ASE's that we've kept for several years. My conundrum is: Should we leave the tubes as is? The seals have not been broken. What are the expectations of finding a "special" coin in them? Hubby picked up the tubes for around $300 each. Should we just keep them as Stackers? I'm just not sure what to do with them. What would you do?

Well, I'm guess that they would be bullion silver coins in the tubes, So I would probably leave them as is. Question - how many in each tube. at $300.00 each tube you can figure out how much you paid for each one in the tubes. From there you could (eventually) sell them off intact at a profit (I'm not sure what it would cost to buy the same sealed tubes today) or, once you figure out what each one had cost you, you can sell them individually - which sometimes will get you more back on your investment. What would I do? not sure to be sure. I would have to have them in hand and store before I could make any decision.

They're all ASE's in the original Mint tubes of 20 coins per tube. The dates allude me right now (probably late '90's to early '00. The values range in the $600 to $700 range so yes, there's a profit in them. I've been in that "decisions, decisions" state for quite some time. Thanks for your comments/suggestions. These were a purchase that my Hubby made and now I'm still not sure what to do with them. One of these days my curiosity will get the best of me and I'll open them to take a look-see. Your collection is lovely Dearborn!

Not sure yet how to reply to a post, but in regards to the above comments, my wife says if I croak and leave all these coins behind, she is buying groceries with them at the Piggly Wiggly

To quote, you use the square brackets [ and ], in between the brackets at the start of a quote, type the word 'quote', then copy/paste the stuff you want to have in the quote, then to close out the quote, type '/quote' inside the brackets.
