So I found this today did the reverse not get struck all the way? The coin weighs 2.8g so I'm guessing it's copper? Any help on what's going on here?

Saw one similar to this today on an earlier post.
It would be a copper cent that someone has has removed part of the reverse. PMD
You can't have a legitimate coin with a rim on only one side.

@vw, I don't think it is a die cap either--just damage on this one. Here is a super website with coin error info on die caps:

A Die Cap would still have the rim. There is no rim on the OP's coin, a sure sign of deliberate damage.

Intentional large date 82 cent. Weight would suggest zinc, but certainly looks like copper. No way it's a die cap, no rim on the reverse.

What are the odds we see two of these in a single day. Smells fishy.
