Quote: Coop, you have a great eye there, the DI is damaged - in fact it is scratched to all get-out. Not what I was expecting it to be. Hopefully you will find a suitable replacement soon.

Dearborn, You should contact Mike Diamond, just click on his name ( fonts are in blue) when his corresponding page opens, use the send email option and that way you can contact him. Good luck, you may have a Rare one! Good luck.

Something that maybe the issue is reflection on the EPU area. The angle of the light and the camera can show reflection on the fields:

Just got an email back from Mike Diamond, He said that the coin I sent him is worth a write -up on it. AS soon as I get permission from Mike, I'll post up in a quote, what he said about it.
(I don't want to quote him without his permission.)

So! The following is not a final analysis, but instead a preliminary inspection of the coin. Here is what Mike thinks so far: Quote: Hi John.
I inspected the reverse of your anomalous 2015-D dime. Most of the raised design does show slight pitting, indicating that there was an attempt to apply laser frosting. But the attempt was feeble and some spots were missed entirely. So it's definitely worth a write-up. I will tackle it this weekend.
