But the scratches are in the coin, not the die, so it wouldn't have anything to do with the laser etching process. Error coin writer and researcher. Report this Post to the Staff

mikediamond Pillar of the Community United States 2737 Posts	Posted 08/13/2021 11:12 am The laser frosting is very feeble, low-density, patchy, and absent in some areas. So while it wasn't missed entirely, it was done very poorly. Since it's computer-controlled, a glitch in the software or the translation of that software is probably responsible.
