When it comes to notes pretty much all I know is repeated numbers are good. I just got these at work. Can anyone tell me more if they're spenders or keepers?

The notes have semi-interesting serial numbers, but they're definitely not considered fancy. If you collect strictly from circulation, you might want to keep them. I am a currency snob and would call them spenders.

I tend to agree with Stevein. The serial numbers are only just marginally fancy.
These notes would definitely be spenders, if they were in a higher denomination, because inflation over time would decrease their value.

Although that 1988-A $1 is in pretty nice shape.

So maybe keep the 1$ if safely stashed?

You might get more money for the $5. The serial number ending in "888" is a very lucky number in China. Try posting it on ebay stating as much, and sell it for $10.

Interesting finds. The $1 is easy to keep, the $5 maybe as well. Certainly easier than if either were $20. Hold on to them if you like them.
