Hello!

I have this 1963-D Lincoln Cent. It looks like it might be a doubled die, but maybe it is just a die chip?

1963-D-Lincoln-Cent-DDO?

Thought and opinions welcome!

Thanks.

Looks like Machine Doubling. Note the affected area is reduced in size. Not a doubled die. Normal die strike, with MD.

Note. From top to bottom, the affected areas have the design of the die. I know it is at a strange location, but the machine has not rules, it wiil hop/weave/bounce in any direction it pleases. However loose the machine was then, it moves after the strike. It is not in a straight line, so I ruled damage/contact. Just noticed the flattened hidden partly rim. So it maybe contact. (Always to look again to see if I missed something) Either way it is not a premium for the coin.
