1877 US Dime - Coin Community Forum

metr235 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 01/27/2009 9:25 pm I have a 1877 S U.S. minted dime that looks like when it was struck there was a foreign object that left an impression on the obverse side over half the length of the dime. The impression shape is true and straight like a pin. The coin has been in storage for many many years. The coin other then the impression is in fine condition. My question is, does anyone know if there are other 1877 S dimes with the same type of impression or mark? Thanks, Saved by Grace Report this Post to the Staff

The impression gets narrower towards the center of the coin so I am not so sure about a saw.
