Decaf94drew Valued Member United States 397 Posts	Posted 05/10/2022 9:02 pm Ok so I've weighed this quarter and it comes out at 5.62g grams so that's why I'm a little hesitant to ask if it is one of those experimental planchets. However I was finally able to find my other plated quarter and they look different I get toning and all could be a factor but why does the one not look like the same metal its close but not quite.. The known plated quarter weighs 5.76g should I take a chance and test between the reeding on the questionable one? From what I can see it doesn't look like there is plating down in between... is there a better way to test for plating? Also apologies for the phone photos my camera is in use for another project still. Your thoughts are appreciated! Coin on left is plated.
