Many of the 1934 coins ended up being cleaned and polished. Yours happens to be one of them.

Still, always a nice coin to have!

Yep I saw that too, but price was right and I like thinking about who might have had this in their cigar box in 1934 +. It was obviously not well taken care of, but I still wish it could talk about it's previous owners.

It is a great coin design, shame that it is highly polished.

The Texas Centennial coin has a bold and content-rich design. The design doesn't appeal to everyone, but those who like it often love it!

I agree with others - too bad it was polished by a former owner. But, if you're happy with it, that's all that matters! Congrats on your new acquisition!

Unfortunately, the polishing detracts from this beautiful design.

Gary. don't be discourage —- I have one that's in lot worse shape than yours and it is one of my favorite coins!

I also have a near-complete, 13-piece date and mint set that I have enjoyed putting together, I have tried to stick with PCGS and NGC in 65 or better. Still a reasonable priced set to put together when you think about it.
