Hello,
Here's what I found. A 1945 S, S over S? Breen's #3689?
Breen's says reported, unseen.
Should this be something that should be sent in so some experts can take a peek at?
I showed to a local expert and he said he believes it to be an S over S.

I provided a scan, a pic, and a corny little illustration as to what the over-lapping appears to be (slightly exaggerated)

I still cannot find a way to get a good picture. I have a Digital SLR 8.0, Tried all different settings including Macro...
Also put the scanner on 2400 DPI, not very good.
So here is what I was able to come up with.

Hi JD

I tried to enhance your pic, but I could not make it any better than what you have,,

Have you tried photographing it through your loupe ?

from what I can see in the pic ,, I think you may just be looking at the large over small S variety,, although the notation that it may look grotesque ? I'm not sure why that comment was made?

You may want to submit the coin to coneca, and have it attributed and then slabbed.

can you get a good clear pic of the entire coin ? I would love to see this coin in sharp contrast !!!

Have not tried through the loop... had no idea that would work. I shall try that next. Thanks!

thats how I used to take my pictures before I remembered the macro setting, its not as good as the macro setting but should be better than the pictures you have been getting with the camera. I also had to put my camera in manual mode not automatic mode to get the macro to work properly maybe if your camera has a manual setting that will help you also.

The camera has so many dang options and setting that it is rediculous.
I tried through the loop, could not even see the coin. I will keep practicing with that later tonight.

Here is the reverse, I do not have an obv pic yet. Not the best shape, but not bad.
The picture is a little grainy... but oh well.
