Sorry if this isn't the best forum.. wasn't sure. Can anyone tell me what's going on with this set? It's sealed. But the damage or whatever it is is appears to be on the coins
That's just toning. It does happen quite a bit with silver proof sets of this type of packaging. Sometimes it's nice looking, other times it's like this, just kind of cloudy looking and not desirable.
According to NGC, milk spots cannot be removed from a coin, but there are various You Tube videos that show that the hazing that occurs on modern proof coins (silver or clad) is removed by a quick dip in EZest.
I've never "dipped" any coin so I can't speak from personal experience.
