1962 - 1981 official was 3.11 with a tolerance of 0.13. The 3.35 is about 3% over max tolerance which can be explained by surface accumulation or a slightly thicker planchet. Just not an extra thickness that your caliper can read.

Could be a rolled thick planchet. BUT: of the 2 stacked cents in the image, is one bent Bentpenny?
I have to look it up, but I think that the heavy one is within tolerances - but barely.

3.35 is worth saving in a 2X2.
