Thanks! There are a few coming up actually. I think some during the week. So, I bought a few wheat cents today from the coin store. Nothing special. Picked up this 1942-S. I'm also kind of at an odd point in this series.... I'm kind of burnt out on it a bit. I like the wheat cents, but I don't really want to continue honestly the first 2 pages, which is where the hardest and most costly coins are. So, for now, I decided to kind of "customize" my album. I know Dansco used to have an album that started with wheat cents from 1935 until current, or whatever the album at the time ended at. I think it was album #7106, which they do not make any more. Since I have basically almost all of these and I like the way the pages look filled out, I decided to go this route and added the six pages from 1935-2009 in a separate album. So, for now, my active collection that I'm still working on starts here I'm proud of the way this looks here, since I found a lot of these myself from circulation. This is basically where the Memorial cents start. Beyond this, this will allow me to opt out of buying the really expensive earlier key date coins in the Wheat series. I also kind of honestly like the look better of a lot of the more later minted years wheat cents. The only real "key" coin to find for now is the 1970 S small date. I am considering buying a new album like a Dansco 7102, or an 8102, and then adding the first two pages into the front of the album. I'm not sure if I can do that, though. It might be easier in actuality just buying a blank Dansco binder, and doing it that way.

Thank you, BadThad! I recently also bought a ton of wheat cents, including some older ones like 1912-s, and a few others. However, I think knowing the route I opted to go now, I probably wouldn't have done this lol

Thank you! The majority of this book is filled. However, many of the coins on the first two pages are still missing. Instead of opting out of them altogether, I think what I am going to do is take my time and try to find a bit nicer coins. Many of the older coins are costly. Not TOO costly, but I mean, more than 5 dollars, which when I am purchasing coins, it's easy to buy a whole bunch that are like 5 bucks and under. For example, I picked up several of these coins recently. 1912-D, 1913, 1915-D and 1915-S. The 15-S was the more costly one, though the bin I pulled it from was 50% off, so I only paid 7 dollars for it. A lot of the coins in the early teens, particularly the S minted coins, are a bit more expensive. I think from now on though, I am going to try to stick to purchasing F-VF coins for the first two pages. I may eventually upgrade some coins as well. I'm not gonna worry about any the key date coins, since some of the more expensive ones I probably won't be purchasing. If I do, I'll probably start with the 1909-S or the 31-S. I'd like to find that darn 1970-S small date, too. Outside of these, I don't plan on purchasing any of the other expensive key date coins like the S VDB, 14-D or 22 plain, as I'm fairly certain I won't be able to find them anywhere near what my budget allows. 1912, 1912-D and another duplicate 12-D in the S mint mark spot 1913 and 1913-D. I don't have the S yet, as I assume it probably costs a bit more. 1914. No 14-S and certainly no 14-D. Lol. This might be one coin I never purchase. 1915, 1915-D and 1915-S. Any idea what this might be? I can't remember where I pulled it from, I would assume my album somewhere, but due to damage, I can't tell what year/mint mark it is. I wanna say it's a 1911. I do have some more stuff to post, but I have to do some work unfortunately, so more later!

This is how I'm going to deal with the key dates for the time being, especially some of the ones I'll never obtain: First page now, like I said, I'd to upgrade a bunch of these at some point: Second page: I'd like to upgrade some of these on this page to BU as well, and from what I can tell, it's pretty affordable to do so. Not being able to find this 70-S small date is also really bugging me! Since moving on to purchasing coins for my set, as opposed to actively trying to find them in coin rolls, I've been working on a few other sets lately, namely my SBA dollar set. I'm also trying to get ideas for some kind of type set, but I'm not entirely sure how I want to organize or house it yet. I also plan on purchasing some Lincoln Cent proofs eventually, since I really like the ones in particular from the 60's and early 70's, so I don't know if I'll go all out and go all proofs, or just those. All I got for now!

You're getting down the the $$$ coins. That $5 budget won't go far.

I ordered an extra blank cents page today, so that way I can eventually get into some proofs potentially. I would much rather have them in the proper album, aka a Dansco 8100, but I already have this 7100 album, so it's not a very wise move to purchase an entire new album just for this IMO. If I could go back and do it again, I'd probably buy the 8100. They don't come cheap. The 8100 is 63 dollars currently on Amazon. Maybe eventually I'll finagle something, but for the time being, this will work. I also ordered a UNC 1949-S from ebay. Should be here next week hopefully.
