So as you guys know, I've been mulling over starting a second set of Lincolns. I recently on ebay came across another Dansco #7100 album for 30 bucks, not including shipping. I opted to purchase it. I was at my credit union over the weekend and speaking to the teller, since I kind of know them, they told me that had a feeling that cent rolls are basically going to be impossible to find now. ...Crap. Well, I'm glad I completed the majority of my album when I did! But I've been mulling over what to do now. Honestly, I don't think I want to go over all this again. I had a couple different things I had considered.... 1. Upgrading many of the wheat cents, and then starting another collection in a Dansco #7103 album from my existing wheat cents. 2. Starting a shield cent collection in either a 7104 or 8104 album. 3. Both. Lol. Oh, and also, here is how I decided to deal with the proofs in my #7100 album: And then whatever doesn't fit there, I have the extra page. My plan is collect all Memorial cent proofs, and perhaps a few of the more budget-friendly wheat proofs. I do like this plan better for several reasons. The whole "proof only" thing with Dansco is annoying and this makes it possible to display all the proofs I intend on having together. I also don't really like the way the "proof only" albums look with cents honestly, with having the proofs next to the business strikes. I suppose it's okay if you have all BU coins, but I don't. So, I'd rather keep them separated. This is the main reason why I opted to not purchase a Dansco #8100 album. Starting over an entire collection, especially with the consideration that rolls are going to be much, much harder to find now... Kind of makes me lose interest in that route. So, meh! But yeah, I think I could hold up interest in starting a kind of "overflow" Wheat cent collection.

I know... I am really indecisive lol
Idk. I'll wait and see what happens after I complete my initial 7100 album. The thing is, if I do upgrade many of my wheat cents, I'm gonna have a ton of extra wheat cents. So, why not put them in their own collection? More so because I have a special affinity for wheat cents.
Shield cents would be a good way to go, too. I have quite a bit of them.

Your idea of putting the proof coins on their own page is starting to grow on me. I have some circulated wheats that I started way back when and even though I am slowly putting together a BU set in air-tites, I still would like to get a Dansco for my circulated set of wheats as well as a 2nd set of uncirculated Memorial and Shield cents. Considering Dansco didn't include the earlier SMS and the proofs that weren't just proof only and the 81-S type 2, I would have to put those some place anyway. At least with them all being on a blank page I can start and arrange them any way I prefer or if I do decide not to include proofs then I won't have open slots with their proof only albums. Hmmm things to ponder now

My Jefferson nickels (7113) and Roosevelt dimes (7125) have dedicated proof pages. By the time I decided to crack all my proof sets, it was easier (and cheaper) to add pages than to get new 8113 and 8125 albums.

I did both, a dedicated page for proofs where Dansco seems to forget that there were proofs, and where Dansco did provide the space for them, I put them in the proper spots.

Hmmm things to ponder now Thanks! Yeah, I like this idea so much better honestly. I initially did this with my Jefferson nickel set and the proofs from it, but... I had at the time both the proof and the business strike albums. So to that regard, I decided to move them over to the proof album. The ones that didn't have spots, I just put in the blank spaces. I mean, this is the route I would have gone obviously if I had the 8100 album

I'm starting to feel like I'm at a standstill with my collection.
The majority of the coins that I need are on the first two pages, and that's not even including the major key dates. I've been looking at the S mint mark coins from 1910-1915, and even in somewhat crappy shape, they aren't cheap.
It might be a time for a bit of a break from this set! No wonder why it takes people so long to put this together, cause it's expensive! Lol.
I did get somewhat lucky, though, and found a 1910-S in somewhat okay shape for under 10 dollars. Everything else I've been finding is 30-40 dollars.

You might just be to the point where you'll only be able to get one or two a month or however your budget allows.

Taking breaks is a good thing to do from time to time - don't get overwhelmed with getting the ones you need, I took my time with my set and just casually searched what I needed and when I found a nice one at a price I was comfortable with, I would buy it..
