Thank you, my friend! I am so having the itch to go out and buy some of the missing coins, but I have been steadfast so far in refraining from doing so lol

Give in to temptation.

Noooo. Well, technically... I sort of did. I purchased this from ebay recently. FINALLY got here. Sheesh. I swear, slowest shipping ever.

It was much easier to just buy these, rather than having to figure out which variety is which, as I don't have a scale or anything like that.

Very nice.

But you still may want or like to confirm. Easy to make a balance with a Popsicle stick or similar (I made one with Lego). Weigh against known copper and known zinc cents.

Smart move! Now you can search for upgrades easily by comparison to the known. Good luck!

Eh, I think for now I'll trust it. Lol. They have a pretty fairly high rating on ebay.

Perhaps! Thanks! They looked fine for the most part. A few coins had a few spots of grime on them.

Alright, so... I did something today I've never done. I visited five of my credit union branches and amassed a whopping 125 dollars worth of penny rolls. I wouldn't normally do this, but being that I was off today and off tomorrow as well, it's a bit easier to manage all this.

Alright... First. The main "finds" that I feel were noteworthy for me. Kind of a bummer, but hell, I'll take it. I was really hoping to find more wheat cents from the teens, twenties and thirties but I found none. It's kind of frustrating the fact that I had literally like 250 rolls, and I found NONE of that.

My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

What the hell is up with this? Seriously? I keep running into this "BU" type 1960/59's. It's starting to get annoying lol
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

I enjoy when I find these weird rolls. Makes me feel like there's goodies in them!
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

So about three or four rolls in, I opened a roll and out popped wheat cents everywhere. Unfortunately, it was someone's coin dump.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

FINALLY found a BU 1961-D to match the others next to it.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Ahh. Much better. A beautiful upgrade.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Some more needed upgrades.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

This thing. Fairly certain this is German.

Alright I think I'm going to have to make a second post! There's way too much for one!

Part 2!!

Awesome Canadian cent finds! All King George small cents!
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Quite a few 70's S minted coins. Always cool to see.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Except for.... this one. What's up with this? This coin is eluding me lol
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

FINALLY found this 2009 D, whatever you'd call this particular design. You can see the disgusting one in the background it's replacing.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Some more 2009 minted coins. What are these called? I call them centennials. Lol.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Finally completed them all, too!
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

And finally... All these exhausting crazy amount of duplicate wheat cents. So the most common ones seemed to be 1941, 1944, and 1954, all of which I already have, of course.

My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Well, that was quite a lot! I think at this point, I am just going to search casually, though. I can probably find most wheat cents from 1940 and up through coin roll hunting, with the exception of the steel cents. But anything from the teens, twenties, and thirties I will most likely not be able to find in circulation, unless I get really lucky. Given the fact that I went through over 100 dollars of cent rolls and found nothing of that sort, eh, I'm guessing it will be a rare occurrence. I actually went on ebay tonight and purchased several coins which didn't cost too much. Bought several from the twenties, which should be here in the next week or so.

Well, that's all for now!

Thank you!

I dumped all the penny rolls and on the way back, I snuck by the local coin store and walked out with these...

My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

I'd buy that for a dollar!
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

Hrmm... I just realized when I got home that I grabbed two of these. Man, this isn't the first time I've done this lol
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

That is all for now. I'm quite saddened and feel a bit bittersweet that they are announcing they are no longer going to be minting the penny. I would assume they will still be accepting the cent as legal tender, though? It would be a bummer if I couldn't get any more rolls from banks.
