Did all modern proofs minted by San Francisco start in 1968?
For the circulation counterparts, yes, with a few exceptions. Many of the commemorative proofs are still minted in Philadelphia.

I see.

There is a coworker of mine who also enjoys collecting coins, and basically likes anything he can get his hands on. He was asking me recently about wheat pennies, since I told him I had a bunch.

He was asking how much I would sell them to him for... Dude.. I'm not gonna sell them to you, I'll give them to you lol

So, I compiled a cheap little 2x2 album for him. In the end, I think it turned out pretty cool and honestly I'm kind of jealous now. Lol.
I think I will do this with all my extra wheat cents eventually as well, the ones that I have that aren't in my Dansco album. I am also going to go this route with my Canadian small cent collection, which I also started working on. I had initially ordered a Dansco plain cents album, but if I can literally save 50 bucks... Yeah, I think I will.

I wouldn't say I would go so far as to "hoard" wheat cents, but I think I will keep whatever ones I find for the most part.

How I feel when I find random wheat cents lol

Thanks! I thought they might. Lol.

I figured since I sorted through them and filled in the holes with what I needed, I have plenty to spare. Spread the generosity, if you will. I still have plenty of them, though.
Last night, I built the start of my Canadian cent collection in 2x2's, and when I get more supplies, I think I'm going to possibly do this with all my leftover wheat cents as well.

Thanks! So today, I was lucky enough that my local credit union actually had 30 dollars worth of penny rolls. This is honestly unusual, as most of the time I go to the various branch locations of my credit union and they only have like ten dollars at a time, or none!

Gotta say, even though I did find some interesting things, in terms of like finding older wheat cents, this was probably the biggest bust I've had.

Weird rainbow toned 59

Some beautiful 09 examples I found. These looked close to BU

The four wheats I found. the 1940 is the only one I didn't have.

oooookay then. Lol.

Okay so this was really weird... I swear somebody did a coin dump. I found SO many near BU 1959 cents.

This was also pretty cool... But weird. I also found TONS of 1960-D BU or close to it cents. I think somebody dumped a collection here. I could be mistaken, but a lot of these look like small date coins.

Despite my lackluster coin roll hunt, my Mom who was visiting this weekend had saved this for me. Thanks, Mom!

So for now, I added the 1940 and the 1949 D to my album. Not much, but I'll take it. That's all for now!

Could have been me.

A lot of OBW rolls look this ugly when cracked. When I crack and see a bunch of those spots, I know that roll is doomed. I don't think I've ever pulled 1 good coin from a crappy roll unless it toned nicely and I can forgive the spotting.

I wouldn't necessarily say they all looked crappy. It was kind of hard to get a good shot honestly. They also weren't all from the same roll, at least not when I was opening them. They were probably originally from one roll like you said.

My set of 7 1982 "BU" variety cents should be here this week that I had ordered from ebay. One coin that keeps missing me is the 1974-S. I'm kind of surprised I haven't found it in a roll yet, considering I've found most other S minted coins within the 60-70 or so range, with the exception of the 70-S small date.

Found these two out of the cash register from my weekly register hoarding.

Already have these of course... But still cool. I'll put them in my 2x2 cent album.
