Quote: On a sad note.. I may have to return this coin. My wife said I might be sleeping outside if I don't lol Bummer. But I get it. Not a trivial expense.

Yeah... I should have started smaller lol The 1885 cost 250 dollars. I should have started at possibly around 70-100, and purchased either the 1886, 1912-S or one of the semi keys in Shield nickels like the 1871. I did, however, FINALLY get this today. I only ordered this on January 18th. Sheesh. It was nice of the seller to refund my money, though. Pretty nice details Here is a little comparison between this one, and the one that I had Both coins I do like, however, the one on the left obviously has much less wear and more details Reverse Some of the reverses in the album - The slow, but steady progress I've made I stuck the lower quality 68 in the 71 spot for now until I get more coins

Big fan of the V nickels. Mine is the typical set minus the big 3 (yawn). I like that you can get the date unless in really poor condition and the better coins with full liberty are really sharp. Thanks for taking the time to post your coins! Very Nice

Thank you, everyone. Quote:Big fan of the V nickels. Mine is the typical set minus the big 3 (yawn). Honestly, I do enjoy all V nickels, both worn ones and higher grades. But the ones that are in F/XF are particularly nice and one of the reasons that it is my favorite designed coin, especially when you get one that is really nice with relatively no issues and no corrosion. They are really easy to come by nice ones since so many people hoarded them. I have two of them.

@ upstate Here is how the V nickel collection is looking at the current moment. Love this series. Some extras I have I'm also really glad that I got the actual #7111 album, which is the official Dansco Liberty nickel album.

Thanks, jbuck So.... I got the 1885 today. I was going to initially return it. However, I found a way to circumvent the high cost of the coin. So, I will be keeping it. I need to be careful in the future with my purchases, though. I have a tendency unfortunately to act compulsively. I like being married lol That said, I really like this coin. More than I thought I would. I also quite like NGC's slabbed presentation. Looks simple and nice. Up close Reverse/back side But yeah, I feel slightly accomplished now. This is now the most expensive coin I have ever purchased, and to be honest, probably will remain that way. The 1886 and 1912-S aren't near as expensive as this. That said, I feel relieved I have it now. The 1886 seems to be the cheapest out of the three key dates from what I'm seeing.

@ jbuck, EV, thank you This kind of makes me want to get more high end, NGC slabbed coins.
