Indian Head Cent Brockage? - Coin Community Forum

lahave56 Valued Member Canada 73 Posts	Posted 05/07/2026 1:47 pm Found this fella while I was taking a closer look at a coin whose 2x2 had been labelled "Not Good As A Collectors Item". I don't know much about errors so I thought I'd see what folks think. I tried flipping the coin end-for-end when I took pictures. I expected to see something on both sides. I couldn't make out a date but it looks like 18?. Report this Post to the Staff

I will weigh it tomorrow and post the result. The one side is blank and the thing seems to have some sort of a rim albeit disfigured or maybe just the result of the vise job. I find it interesting that the original target seems to have been a blank of the right size and weight to match the coin used for imprinting. I wish I had a way of using XRF to look at composition.
