Your photos taken at an angle make it nearly impossible to offer an informed opinion. Show the coin straight on then we can really help.

My initial impression is this might be a Proof strike with significant toning.

Looks like mid-grade nice proof to me from what I can see. Maybe 64/65?

In hand (or much better pics) might yield a much different opinion.

Yep - the new straight on photos have me convinced this is a Proof strike with some sort of haze or toning on the surfaces.

i guess I'm seeing something completely different when looking at the surfaces of this coin. all of my comments are based on the photos presented, thats all we have to assess by.

i think its an impaired proof. the flat gunmetal grey surfaces indicate that the coin has been messed with. backing that up the cheek in the last obv photo looks like vertical hairline marks running from the eye down to the bottom of the jaw as if it was wiped with something a little abrasive.
