Is it odd to find a 1988 $1 bill in circulation? Most of the ones I see are 2003 and 2006. Is it worth keeping at all?

It is kinda odd to find a 1988 note. Only once in awhile will I find a 1988 or a 1977.I would keep it unless it's really worn out. What condition is it in?Can you scan and post a photo?

First, I would check to see if it is a web note. If so, I'd keep it.
Then I'd see if it had a neat serial number or was a star note. If so, I'd keep it.

If it's just a regular circulated note, it's up to you. You could start a set of the different series of $1s (1981, 1985, ....).

My 10 year old son found a 1985 $5 bill yesterday. He noticed it because it was the old style Lincoln bill. We had the same discussion - keep or not.

He concluded I should buy it from him and keep it in the safe!

Fair enough!

I used a $5 federal reserve note from 1933 today and had a great conversation with the person about old coins and want to keep out of circulation.

No star or special serial number. I'll hang onto it and see what kind of collection I can build around it.

I'd keep it if you're into old currency. I go through straps and do find them from time to time. Have found a few notes (in good shape) back to the 60's, but strangely have not found and 1's from the 70's.
