My LCS initially thought that this was homemade, but I am not so sure.
It weighs 2.12 grams, has a diameter of 18.4-18.6 mm (not quite circular, and has a thickness of 0.9-1.0 mm. It is magnetic.
A 10 cent coin of that era should weigh 2.07 grams, have a diameter of 18.03 mm and a thickness of 1.16 mm.
A 25 cent coin should have a thickness of 1.6 mm.
There is no reeding; the edge is smooth and rounded but no obvious sanding marks.
What makes me wonder if this happened at the mint is that the shape of the beads is not the same everywhere.
