I love these nostalgic threads!

For those that love reading the stories, here is a similar thread from earlier this year.

Obviously, my answer has not changed: the two Eisenhower dollars that my dad gave me in 1978.

Sorry I missed the previous thread on the topic. I called myself looking before I posted. Either way, it sure is fun hearing how you all got into this. I am a fairly new returner to collecting.

No nostalgia here, I just started. I was in the coin shop that I've been buying silver bars in for a while, and would always check out the coins while I was waiting for an employee. One of them saw me looking at the Peace dollars, and said they were having a bit of a sale on them (I just love those things). I walked out with a 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26, all P mint and ms-63ish, used album, a Red Book, and a copy of Coin World for 110 bucks. This was like 2 months ago, and several more coins have been added to the album, and I've picked up some IHC's, one Large Cent, and a 2 cent piece since. I've become like a little kid with this hobby, and have some bigger plans once the Peace dollar album is filled...

Oh, it is no problem at all!

There is a lot of conversation on CCF, I could not expect someone to possibly remember it all. Many times an old thread is already archived, so you would not be able to add to it anyway.

I just thought the newer members would appreciate some of the previous conversations on a similar topic.

My Grandfather gave me 6 Indian Head Pennies when I was a little boy. I Always loved them and kept them in a little box in my closet. When my Grandfather passed last July I received his small coin collection, and to my surprise there were 44 IHP in the box he kept his coins in. That was it, from that day on I was hooked. I live and breathe coins these days and am loving every second of it.
