Is the statue of liberty in New Jersey? I was of the thought that Ellis Island and teh statue were in New York.

Quote:
The statue is in New York,

"Liberty, Statue of - Reference Center
Liberty, Statue of, statue on Liberty Island in Upper New York Bay, commanding the entrance to New York City"
Although it is a lot closer to New Jersey, they tried and failed to gain dominion. More Information here and here.

Take a look at Google maps in the harbor - the statue of liberty is in NJ.

My bet is the obverse will be the same as the current quarter.

I just hope that at the end of this series we will get a total overhaul of the quarter.

Well I don't know what they will do with the obverse but the National parks legislation requires that once the program ends the reverse design for the quarter will be a representation of Washington crossing the Delaware.

I think Ellis Island IS in New York, but the Statue is in New Jersey.
