I was looking over some change recently and found what I though was a BU nickel, but after examining it closely I realized it was a proof. I know it isn't much, but it was really surprising. It isn't that reflective, but I sort of figured it was a proof by the strong strike and 5 steps. Is it rare to find to find a proof, rarer than silver, and has anyone here found a proof in change?

I got a 1971-S Proof Quarter in my change this month, and I gave it
to a co-worker who was born in 1971!

I've found several Proofs in my change, over the years...

The 'best' would be my 1956 Proof Dime (a few spots, but nice fields).

I do also have a stunning full-red 1966 Cent (found in change years
ago) that appears to be from a 1966 Special Mint Set.

Nice find!! Great eyes to pick up the details that it is a proof from change! I found a Georgia Silver Proof Quarter in change a few months ago.
