1851 Large Cent Error? - Coin Community Forum

thingee Pillar of the Community United States 2177 Posts	Posted 05/14/2006 9:03 pm Hi everyone. I got this coin years ago when I was strolling at a flea market. I can't remember exactly what I paid for it but it couldn't have been more than 8 dollars. The seller was selling all kinds of junk and collectible items. He also had a box full of coins on a counter and I found this. What does anyone think of this coin? Is it a nice coin to keep? Report this Post to the Staff

I like my walking liberties even more, even though I have no idea if it's worth more than a half dollar. What value would you give this coin? I may like to trade for it eventually. There is around $5 worth of silver in the scrap ones... if they have much of a grade or is they are a better date, they can only go up in value. Report this Post to the Staff

It's value will be sure to rise and it's a beautiful example of the coin. How many other things do you own that are more than 150 years old?
