Since we don't have them in ontario, I bought a coin a while back and the Montreal seller threw one in for me. The ebay listing said he took it from a roll. There seems to be some kind of chip or indentdation on the rim near the 'A' of Canada. Thoughts anyone? Is this why he threw it in or could it be an error of some type?
IS it poor plating, or is it an occlusion- a small pocket of gas? There looks to be more visible on the rim than on the coin's surface, but it just may be plating.
First I had to look up what the heck occlusion means.. ok I still don't know dangit, but no I dont think a pocket of gas caused. I'll have to get a magnifying glass to look at the coin part vs rim, but with the naked eye it seemed like there was parts missing on both sides of the rim. As well will a bit of extra metal embedded into the side of the rim.
