Hello, all. My Dansco 8100 project is one coin away from being complete. The goal is simple.

1909-1958: XF-MS all brown

1959 and up: BU Red

I threw myself for a loop when I decided to be rigid with requiring XF or better, and I also decided NO slabs. All of my coins will be in the Dansco album.

When I returned from Iraq some of my key and semi-key coins has were a problem with what I wanted to accomplish.

1909-VDB NGC MS66 Red
1909-S VDB PCGS MS64 RB

These had to be sold because they're not full brown and because I wasn't willing to crack out either in their grades.

1914-D NGC VF20
1922 No D Strong Rev PCGS G06

These had to go because they don't meet my XF+ requirement.

The beast of my project was upgrading my 22 Plain to an XF. I think I paid on the high side. Unfortunately David Lawrence was at $100 bid increments - which amounts to $115 after BP. I really wanted it and when I called David Lawrence with questions I absolutely loved dealing with them. Fantastic customer service! So I figured what the heck.

In any event, here it is. It's a PCGS XF40 and I paid $2300. Last on my list is an 09-S VDB replacement in XF-AU. I'm going to scan and post pics of the whole set when it's done, but realistically it will probably be in a few weeks.

That's a lovely 1922 No D Strong Rev. PCGS Price Guide lists it, this grade, BN, at $2450, down from $2600 at just the start of the month. I wouldn't worry too much about that, though. I think you got a square deal on this one.

Congratulation on buying this fantastic coin and it's one of the 3 holes in my Lincoln Cent collection with the other two being the 14-D and 1909 S VDB

Beautiful coin Sean ...... pricey but part of your 'plan' as you stated in the other post.

I offer a tip of my cap to you as a collector who has created a vision for your set and is pursuing it with rigor.

As a newbie (older in age .... but new in coins) ....... your example of selling that lovely 1909-S VDB to actually downgrade to meet the set needs is a great example of the learning's I need.

Thanks for sharing

David

I have a complete Dansco set plus some. I filled up the last page with other errors like the 41 DDO. 36 DDO type 1, plus 27 other RPM's. I'm 12 coins from a upgraded vf set plus I want the following coins to make it a "super set". 1909 s/s horz, 1917 DDO, 1943 D/D, 1944 D/S,1946 S/D, and the 1955 DDO...maybe some day
