Thank you, I appreciate all the knowledge shared. I'll try and get this weighed by a jeweler to provide you with the accurate weight of the coin. Did you get to look at my other pix? I'm particularly wondering about this one.

The link posted did not work but I briefly saw the pictures on the other thread. I will get back to you on those as soon as I have had time to study them.

edreyes - When I posted the answer the pictures showed up. That looks to me like one of the brass Spiel-marks made in the 1800s as counters or gambling tokens. They are a very interesting series (many were made in Germany) but they were copies of US gold coins. I own quite a few different varieties. Here are a few.
