1972-D Jaw Line and Moon Line Die Clashes I think the dent in the temple is a strike through It does not look like a hit in hand. Chuckster, Just going through the thread again and had a thought. Did you check the three 72 Type 2's to see which dies they were made from. The August or the more rare March Dies. Just a thought. Jprine Nice 74 S Terry

Terry; Nice! Regarding the 3 72Type 2's- Thanks for asking. All three are from the August release- have the identical die markers with the scratches after the E of E-Pluribus, the scratches by Ike's eye & the die dot in the O of one. I already had 1- 72 type 2 August release, it would have been nice to find a March Release but I'm not complaining about only finding 3 more August Release Type 2's

Stopped at a TD bank this morning - cashing in coins etc and my favorite teller at this bank wanted to know if I would like to see some IKE's that some elderly gentleman had just cashed in. $54.00 dollars in Ike's- bought them all, 53 were normal coins, nothing special. This one stuck out like a sore thumb- real nice golden toned Mint State Grade 1971P. $53.00 are going back- this is a keeper! *Much nicer in hand then my pics.

chuckster, Beautiful 71-P Congratulations on the find, A great way to start the 4th of July weekend The very shiny spot at the base of the neck on the pic reminded me of something. Quite a few proof planchets that were not quite up to snuff were put in with the regular planchets and shipped from San Francisco to the Denver mint. Where they were minted into coin. I have found a good number of Denver minted Ike's struck on Proof Planchets. Just a little something else to keep an eye out for. As if there is not already enough with the Ike's Hope you have a great Weekend Terry

Thanks
It is a raw coin I would give it an MS64-65 given the marks on the Eagles head and tail and on Ike's Jaw Line right behind his chin. Other than that the coin is stunning in hand.

Recent purchase, Shame about the bag marks 71's are real hard to find clean. Still like it though. Terry

Thanks
Very Nice Clashing going on there. and very nice 76. Don't hold me to it but it looks like there is a Jaw Line die clash on the reverse of the 1972-D. ? Might just be the way that the light is hitting it.
