Post An Ike (Eisenhower Dollar)

Thanks jbuck...I was very happy to get the 1890`1990 Ike. You wouldn't happen to know how the Bicentennial capsule opens up by any chance?

Finally figured out how the thing was snapped together and was able to get it out and in the album. You are correct about the seam jbuck, I just kept worrying the ever so slightly raised half of the case and finally enough came apart to get a thumbnail in it and then I worked all the way around and it popped apart. The coin itself was never touched.....Very happy.

I could not agree more about this smokeriderdon, the helpfulness shown to me has really been a blessing.

I went to the bank to pick up my boxes of halves and the tellers asked if I wanted $179 in dollars.

I figured they were SBA's and Sac's and Prez but it turns out they were Ikes.

The other teller said she too the gold plated one out for her grandson so I figured they had already been picked through.

I found 5 different proofs and a holed.

No silver though

I love doing this to Ikes. Every now and then I buy a roll of Ikes from davenders, each of which are still in cellophane. Fun. Fun. Fun.

A VERY happy day for me today, folks! I just received these in the mail:

1971-S DDO FS-103 and 1973-S DDO FS-101!

The significance of these latest acquisitions means that I only need one more DDO variety to finish my COMPLETE variety Eisenhower dollar PCGS registry set- the 1971-S DDO / DDR FS-801. My only hope for an affordable example will be to find a lower grade, like the FS-103 I now own. Wish me luck, guys. I'm so close now at 97.62% completion.
