Do you think it might be a pegger?

To me it was a MS coin with AG value.

That's kind of what I was thinking jbuck but if they can grade a nail or a piece of 3M sanding disk etc then this shouldn't be a problem.

Question, has anyone seen numerical grades on slabbed planchets?

Bought some proof Eisenhower dollars at a semi-local shop today. I did quite a bit of online comparison and this shop had some of the lowest prices I could find. Once there they knocked another 20% off the purchase price. I figure they had already cherry picked the best Ike proofs for certification, but feel I got a decent deal. I'll post a pic (1971-S silver) as example (the scratch in front of Ike's forehead is on the mylar). I haven't much experience with proof coins--is this what's called a cameo? Most of the other coins looked like this one.
