I picked this up for my Clad Type Ike in my 20th Century Set. I really like the raised "striation" lines. I would not call it a "woody" although the colors do shift between the "lines"...the golden tone does not hurt either. (sellers (cropped) images) 1971-D $1 PCGS MS65

Quote: I picked this up for my Clad Type Ike in my 20th Century Set. You got that one from James Sego, didn't you? You sly dog, you. I was eye-balling that one for quite a while. At one point he had it discounted, but I never pulled the trigger. Congrats! Good to see you back, SSK. Those Ikes look fantastic, especially the 72-D. The '72 T1 appears to have an excellent strike. Here's my latest haul. I've got the Ike fever. . . . 1971-1974 silver proof run: the '74 is a target toner. 1973-S 40% silver proof - ANACS PF67DCAM. This coin has awesome root beer colored toning around the obverse and reverse peripheries. I couldn't belive I was the only bidder, but the seller photos were kind of dark. The toning on that 1973-S, I can't even handle what a beauty that one is Darth Morgan.

Got these two for my 20th and 21st US type album. My first Ikes P.S. I can see now why Ikes are getting so much love around here. The eagle is just majestic and the moon setting really works on this coin. The obverse is more on the minimalist side, with a lot of empty areas, but both sides don't cancel each other out, so the overall impression this coin leaves is at the same time humble and grand. If that makes any sense :)
