Thanks Terry! Believe it or not, the pics were taken with the front part of the plastic case removed. That's how much glare and shine this coin has. The G in GOD definitely does not match the prototype- it does match the 71s proof which now has me totally baffled. Here are some more pics of this area, the "R" in Liberty and Ike's ear. I'm thinking this coin is a Proof Like Bus. Strike Ike. I'm going to post these pics on the Ike group also- maybe Lee/Rob/Bill/Brian etc. have seen one of these etc. Happy New Year to you and your family also! Chuck.

Thanks Terry for the pics!
It's a match for the 71S Bus Strike/Normal 71S Proof.- not the prototype.
As I mentioned above, I'm thinking this is a very good possibility of being a Proof-Like Business Strike.
Chuck.

Terry; Herb Hicks responded on the Ike Group and he is not sure what it might be. Also, there is presently 2-1971S Proof Ike's with a uncirculated Type 1 reverse's that have been found and attributed by ICG Supposedly Coin World did a report on these in their December of 2007 magazine. Unfortunatley I don't know how to try and get a copy of that issue. Who knows, maybe this one still could be the third. I have to do some more re-search and make a few calls this coming week! Chuck.

Just got a reply from Dr. Wiles:
" This is a UNC. coin that has been polished"
Oh well, not one of the BIG ONES :(
Still, not a bad looking Ike for the price I paid, IMHO. (Under $9.00)
Chuck.

1971-S Business Strike Ike with a Talon Head die clash. I lit the coin to show the very heavy die polishing going on. Terry
