I get a lot from fountains.

God will forgive me, but I pull obviously foreign coins out of fountains and toss in Canadian coins of my own.

What a coincidence! I pull obviously Canadian coins out of fountains and throw other foreign coins in to replace them! Not really, but I did have a friend who worked at Six Flags as a summer part time job in High School, and he said when they got foreign coins in the fountains, he pulled them out. They would not approve of him taking US money, but stuff they couldn't cash in was fair game. He has some cool ones too!

I don't make special Coinstar runs, but I do check them every time I'm in a store that has one, and so far I have found NOTHING aside from an empty reject slot.

Speaking of Coinstar, I'm sorely tempted to dump $30 or $40 worth of my counterstammped JFKs in there. I already have an Amazon gift card from the holidaze, and I'm thinking of getting another one in preparation for a purchase.

Don't drop Ikes into the Coinstar machine. There is a warning screen not to put Eisenhower dollars in the Coinstar machines. I assume this also applies to other large dollar coins such as the Peace dollar and the Morgan dollar.

Found 3 pennies last night!

Taking coins from fountains? Yikes? I'm no saint, but I also don't have any asbestos underwear

1942 P Merc today on the floor in front of the machine. Dark toned on the obverse with several bad scratches, but the reverse was F, or so.

A 42/41 is one of only two error coins I would go to buy if I won a lottery. This one was definitely not that, but it was free silver. My third merc at that machine.

1964 nickels are about as rare as 1965 quarters: they're everywhere. I see them all the time.

Congrats on the free nickel. Fun to see coins in the tray.

I've been finding a memorial now and then, but basically a dry spell.

Coinstars in the 'higher-socioeconomic' areas are better. People aren't as likely to check for their rejects. Not like in my neighborhood where people watch the slot like a hawk

Today, between snow storms, my wife and ventured into our local grocery, mainly for milk which we had run out of.

Went directly to dairy case and skipped the Coinstar. As I was checking out I remembered to get a paper and check the machine. Told the clerk I'd be right back and I was, but not before scooping up:

Coinstar

Coinstar

Love tokens and foreign coins, but got excited about the silver.

A few days ago, I found 39 cents worth of coins including a silver dime in the reject tray. Can't believe people don't check; it's the second silver dime I've gotten from the same machine.

Well now! I can now boast of a Coinstar reject slot find!

At the closest Walmart Neighborhood Market, there was a shiny AU 1964 dime glistening at me from the tray! As I approached it my first thought it was a foreign coin.

Interestingly enough, I got my first series 2013 bill in my change at the checkout stand...a ten dollar bill.
