I have inherited some coins and within the collection are two half rolls of uncirculated 2004 Texas State Quaters. The coins at each end of one of the rolls are copper toned with a little bit of the silver color still there. I don't know much about coins and I'm wondering if I have something special here.

Raz!

There could be more than one reason for that but, it sounds like they were placed there intentionally.

Have you opened the roll? It would be very strange if the entire half-roll was the same.

Also, please post pics! Click on the "Tutorials" button at the top of you're unsure about the process.

Sounds like just the enders are toned. That's normal. Clad does tone, but slower than silver.

and yes, please do post pics.

I have a ton of Statehood Quarters that have taken on a yellowish patina, probably from storage in a cheap plastic Costco cashews container for a decade+.
