I have nothing older than a Barber half-dollar. Those American Revolution coins, though, look so good. It's a shame they never got too popular to circulate fully.
I just passed 2000 different US coins a few weeks ago and I keep a spreadsheet (actually multiple spreadsheets) to keep track of it all. My best category is dimes, where I have over 350 different dates/mint marks...and counting. I just got my 90th and 91st different Seated dime recently. Most of the rest of the dimes of different types I need are too pricy to buy either short-term or long-term.
I couldn't even begin to estimate how many total US coins I had. Too numerous to count!
I also don't know how many total different US coins there are, if you count proofs, commems, special sets, gold and silver Eagles, etc could be well over 10,000 possible. We're probably adding 50-100 new ones each year from all the US Mint products + circulation strikes.
