ANACS Versus ICCS - Regrading - Coin Community Forum

motoryoda Valued Member Canada 278 Posts	Posted 07/29/2011 4:30 pm I have an 1859 Canadain cent (error with 15 degree reverse rotation) that is graded AU-55 in an old ANACS holder. Should I send it back to ANACS to have it put in a new holder, or send it to ICCS? I have heard that ICCS grades only on technical merit, and that ANACS incldes eye appeal and am concerned that ICCS may change the grade. Am I being paranoid about this? Any input is apprecaited. canadian-varieties Pillar of the Community Canada 1442 Posts	Posted 07/29/2011 8:10 pm 15 degree rotation on a 1859 is very common. That being said, I would consider sending it to get a hard holder with CCCS, who will put the variety on the label. The grade may drop but it will also drop with ICCS. With new ANACS management and grading, it will drop if you regrade with ANACS as well. You can also keep it in its current holder, and have CCCS crossgrade it for $10, so you get a flip with that description but it stays in its original holder. Report this Post to the Staff
