This Looks like a bullion strike Gilly has posted, These 2026 American Silver Eagle " Team USA " coin photo Looks like a bullion strike, and are Probably the coins given to Our athletes. I also see captbilly posted Another photo that Looks like a Proof Strike coin. If it is a bullion strike coin, and it appears so, It would have No Bearing on the American Silver Eagles Bullion Series, mint marked collectibles and their lower mintages.
I believe this changes Nothing in the Series Unless it has a mint mark.  |

The COA shown in the photo identifies it as a proof strike. . .I have a hunch we'll know where they were struck by the end of the week as recipients begin to post photos and share their WH experiences with their local media and via social media.  Edited by cptbilly

Either the people who won it will keep it, or someone with the truly deep pockets will have them. Here's my suspicion: they made 1000 and will send them to Stack Bowers. Edited by Gilly

The Mint and the USOC are missing out on a great fund-raising opportunity by not making twenty thousand or more of these available to collectors at a premium price point ($500 ? $1,000 ? More ?) for the benefit of US Olympic training programs. Of course, that would require marketing savvy on the part of the brain trust of both organizations. . .ASE collectors have voted with their wallets, demonstrating the demand for any PM issues, even bullion examples, e.g., the 2024 Star PM and 2025's Eagle PM; given the opportunity, they would do so again. The American Silver Eagle Bullion series has Many stars, Most of those stars are Mint Marked ASE's, In my collection. Collectors collect what they choose, I am confused about This Extraordinary event, I see what appears to be a posted Uncirculated ASE with an added Counter-stamp or a privy marked " Team USA ". I also see another posted photo showing an OGP'd ? ASE Proof!! Then I read the link Capt provided and extracted This , Quote : " Few production details have been disclosed. Beach identified the pieces as American Eagle silver coins featuring a TEAM USA privy mark, but his announcement did not provide a production total, finish, striking facility or mint mark. "  What is known , The 2026 USA Olympic Athletes were gifted coins. I ceased collecting Bullion ASE's, ( 2008 ) I do Not believe a Mint Marked American Silver Eagle coin and a Bullion coin are equals. I understand the " completest " thought process, However This Extraordinary release has Not affected my collection, as The world knows, Only the 2026 Olympic Athletes were gifted These unique Historic coins, I wish all who collect, all the best. My opinion is based on This coin being a Bullion strike, Not Mint Marked . To those who differ in opinion,  I Will not be surprised when Pawn Stars gets the First sold Coin with the Team USA Stamp/Privy. That Sold price will be Interesting,.... |

I think it was pretty rotten of the mint to use the ASE to give to 'Team USA' - they 'SHOULD' have come up with a special design. It completely ruins it for 'NORMAL ASE' collectors, knowing that they will NEVER have a complete set. |
