Something I noted has changed from when the Bicentennials were first made in the couple years they were. We used to think the type 1 REV would be something hot in years to come b/c you never could find one in circulation or at the banks. Now 50 years later I see several of them here when people post the Ikes they are getting. were first coming out. Must be poeple first hoarded them when the types were announced and now after all these yeaars they are bing cashed in?

Quote: Must be people first hoarded them when the types were announced and now after all these years they are being cashed in? Well after 50 years people are passing away and their family is finding out there isn't much, if any, of a premium on them so right - just cashing them in.

A local bank had 57 Eisenhower dollars so I bought them all. No silver and no 1973-dated coins, but all other years were represented. My local coin shop will buy them for slightly over face so unless someone in my coin club wants them that's where they will likely end up.

I stopped by a bank branch that I don't normally stop at and they had $166 in Ike's! The only major thing I found so far is a 1974-S heavily scratched proof. I still need to go through them a bit more closely, however.
